Well, that certainly didn't take long, eh? Hours after locking in wide receiver DeVier Posey, general manager Rick Smith finally hammered out the last Texans rookie contract with Brandon Brooks.
Per FOX26's Mark Berman, the Miami of Ohio third round draft pick is officially a Houston Texan.
As for the massive Brooks, he will now sign his name on the dotted line and get ready for a camp battle against Antoine Caldwell for the right guard spot vacated by Mike Brisiel's move to Oakland.
Rookies signed, roster set, are you ready for Saturday, BRBers?
Edit 1: Per John McClain, Brooks' contract is also for four years.
Edit 2: Per McClain again, Brooks' four-year deal is worth $2.8 million. He gets a signing bonus of $617,436 with base salaries of $390,000 (2012), $500,000 (2013), $590,000 (2014), and $702,564 (2015). H/t EHTR.
