After the Texans learned Owen Daniels has a non-displaced fracture of his fibula, it stood to reason they'd make a roster move. Initial reports had OD out for four to six weeks, so placing OD on injured reserve, even if designated to return, seemed unlikely.
Did I say "unlikely"? I misspoke. Forgive me. The Texans placed their star tight end on injured reserve/designated to return today. This means OD is not eligible to return to the active roster for eight (8) weeks.
Yes, eight weeks. Not the four to six initially reported. It remains to be seen what state the 2013 Houston Texans will be in two months from now when OD can return to action.
Although Garrett Graham and Ryan Griffin provide legitimate options at TE, whoever is quarterbacking this team on Sunday and for the next seven weeks is going to be without a proven weapon. Here's wishing OD a speedy and successful recovery.
