The process that began on December 6th is over. Bob McNair got his man, and many of us are thrilled with the decision.
Rumors of O'Brien and the Texans negotiating a contract began swirling last Saturday. Since then, there was talk of O'Brien telling Penn State recruits he wasn't going anywhere (though the accuracy of that has been questioned). It seems clear that this was a move O'Brien agonized over; ultimately, the opportunity to step into this unique situation was apparently too good to pass up.
