I believe it was Tennyson, or perhaps Herm Edwards, who once said, "Tis better to have played and lost than never to have played at all." As someone who has watched every painful minute of the Texans' season, I beg to differ. It would have been way better to have gone straight from the predictable postseason loss to the Patriots in January of 2013 to the 2014 regular season opener. There was no reason to play the 2013 season. None.
Nevertheless, we're here, and the Texans insist on playing again tonight. Thus, we must watch. It is our curse.
