2013 NFL Combine: Houston Texans Meet With Manti Te'o

Well, I guess this means the Texans aren't drafting Manti Te'o.

Jonathan Daniel

During Manti Te'o's press conference at the NFL Combine today, the ex-Notre Dame star was asked several questions about both his "incident" and the reactions of the teams he has met with. Apparently he has met with two teams already and has eighteen more meetings scheduled. The two teams in question: The Green Bay Packers and...the Texans? According to Te'o, the general nature of his interviews was "giving a brief 30 second summary" before "getting on to football" for the remaining 14 minutes.

Te'o's schematic fit would be a little funky for Wade Phillips' system, but there's no denying that the kid has talent. I think the real interesting nugget here is that the Texans made sure to be first in line to meet and greet a linebacker while a bunch of offensive tackles ran out of their socks in the next room. Does that allude to Rick Smith's priorities in this draft? We can't be sure, but it's the offseason and I'm going to run with this anyway for the sake of funneling hits to this site. I need the ad money to buy Tim a Sam Bradford Fathead.

You heard it here first, folks. Manti Te'o is going to be a Texan. Also, we should probably sign Vince Young and Reggie Bush. I wouldn't mind trading for Percy Harvin, too. Our team needs more winners, liars, drama queens, and college kids with terrible taste in "girlfriends."
