John McClain says:
Texans are bringing in punter Shane Lechler for a visit Thursday.

The Texans were interested in Lechler last time his contract expired but Raiders gave him 4 mil a year.

And therein lies the rub. If Lechler wants anything close to what he's made in the past--and frankly, what he's truly worth--it seems unlikely the Texans would be able to afford him. If the Pride of Sealy is willing to take less to play close to home, however, there's a chance this works out. Should the Texans and Lechler fail to come to terms, Donnie Jones would not be a bad consolation prize, assuming the Texans were able to bring him back into the fold; D. Jones was very good last year.
Texans P Donnie Jones set team records for gross and net in his only season. He's a free agent.
