For those that were following along for the last five hours, Mocking the Draft had itself a 3-round live community mock that I and Night Owl were fortunate to participate in. Reaches were scoffed at, boards crumbled, and everyone had a hearty laugh at the Jaguars, and at the end of the day yours truly came out with a shiny new quartet of imaginary Texans.
Round 1: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
Round 2: Da'Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
Round 3: Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse
Round 3 comp: Sio Moore, ILB/OLB, UCONN
There was an air of...let's call it disagreement...at the passing of Keenan Allen, but I think in the end everything turned out just fine. If the draft shaped out like this Houston would have a solution for the inevitable departure of Antonio Smith, a troubled but truly gifted WR prospect in Da'Rick Rogers, a Bob Sanders-esque safety that will hurt people, and a versatile and athletic inside linebacker to pair with Brian Cushing. Not bad for three rounds.
What do you think, BRB? Did I screw this up royally, or would you be comfortable with your 2013 Texans if this mock became reality?
