2013 BRB Mock Draft: With The Nineteenth Overall Pick, The New York Giants Select...

Who will be the next member of the New York Giants? More likely than not, it won't be this guy. Why not? Because I picked him here.

I should never have read this post on a full stomach. Does anyone have some Tums?

Can you really call it a Super Bowl hangover if you only get edged out of the playoffs at the end of the year? That's what happened to the Giants last year when they lost out in a three-team race for the NFC East title to the Washington Redskins.

At 9-7, they didn't have a bad season, but it just wasn't enough to make the postseason.

After free agency, the Giants have more questions on their usually vaunted defense than before. Osi Umenyiora is in Atlanta, linebacker Chase Blackburn went to Carolina, Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard are both gone, and Justin Tuck has now had two straight forgettable seasons.

So they need to work on replenishing it.

With that in mind, with the 19th pick of the 2013 BRB Mock Draft, the New York Giants select...Bjoern Werner (DE--Florida State).

There are several reasons behind this pick. First of all, I just like saying his name. Second, the Giants tend to pick the best player available and Werner is just that. Third, and more practically, Werner fills the gap left by Osi Umenyiora and his improved ability to stop the run should help, to some degree anyway, reduce the number of big runs against them.

The Bears/RedWhitePaws' pick is due to Tim via e-mail no later than 7 p.m. CDT tonight.
