Houston Texans News
One more Aggie for the Texans
The Texans are holding a private workout with Texas A&M senior outside linebacker Sean Porter. Porter was tasked with replacing now-Denver star Von Miller in 2011, he collected 79 tackles and led the team with 9.5 sacks that season. With the arrival of Kevin Sumlin, the Aggies switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and Porter had a slump in production - 66 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The Parks and Tourism Sciences Major (go back and read that again) posted 4.63 in his 40-yard dash at the A&M pro day. Porter has shown great change of direction and explosion into the backfield.

What this means for the Texans, Porter is projected to be a pick in the fourth, maybe even the third round. If the Texans fill needs at other positions early, Porter could be an eventual fill-in for the departed Connor Barwin.
Around the League
RGIII = Peyton...as in Peyton Manning.
Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon appeared on NFL AM Thursday, and was asked to compare Peyton and Griffin.
"He can be just as good as Peyton."
Pierre, is he that good after one year? At the very least, it's good to know the Redskins' number one wide receiver believes in his quarterback. It's sound like Garcon was saying, "That's my quarterback!"
Really, the only reason I bring up RGIII so that I can talk about two things. THIS!
Got to meet the legend himself also.....Morgan Freeman that is ha ha say.ly/Qsp5zB8

One last thing, lets talk about a mix-tape that RGIII tweeted out last night - I bring this to your attention only because I feel old. I've checked out of rap since Tha Carter came out. This for sure won't bring me back, but what do you guys think of it?

Gronk Not Feel Good...Gronk No Smash
At this point, New England Patriots fans must be worried about their all-world tight end, Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski is holding off another surgery, it's the fourth since breaking the forearm in week 11 last season. Gronkowski's doctors are waiting for an infection to heal before placing another plate in the arm. I shutter to think about a bionic Gronk taking the field.
I'm not a businessman; I'm a business, man!
Jay-Z is taking the sports world by storm, taking New York Yankees star Robinson Cano from top baseball agent Scott Boris. Mr. Carter has moved on to New York Giants WR Victor Cruz, Cruz is now apart of "Roc Nation." As a result of this move, it looks like Cruz wants to say in New York or, at the very least, he just wants to party with Jay-Z.
Loud Noises!
The NFL is once again attempting to make the stadium experience unique compared to the your couch. Which feels like a fleeting effort, until they put a La-Z-Boy and a whole kitchen in my stadium seat. This time around, the NFL is allowing teams to play audio prompts to make noise before the play-clock hits 20 seconds, down from 30 seconds. Teams now can play video prompts any time. I won't be surprised when "MAKE SOME NOISE" is burned into the new screens at Reliant Stadium.
Steeler No More
Former Pittsburgh Steelers minority shareholder Jimmy Haslam no longer has stake in the team. Haslam, now the Cleveland Browns owner, will have full control of the Cleveland franchise by 2016. Cleveland can't catch a break; even their owner's first choice was Pittsburgh.
The British are Coming, The British are Coming
Earlier, we brought you the story of Lawrence Okoye. The British Olympian, who hasn't played a snap of organized football in his life, is hoping to make with an NFL team. Well after the NFL Super Regional Combine, Okoye has caught the eye of the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers. Okoye will be making visits to each team this week.
VY, VY, VY, VY
Bayless and myself are on a personal mission to keep Vince Young in the NFL. After the Raiders passed on Seneca Wallace (who wouldn't?), the Raiders turned their attention to Vince Young. If in fact Young becomes a Raider, his direct competition would be Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor. Vince doesn't have that high of a mountain to climb to be back starting. The Raiders have also brought another Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith. To which my only response is....
