Unsatisfied with ripping Arthur Brown from the potential grasp of the fake Texans' front office, The Night Owl returns, brandishing the first round pick Minnesota acquired from Seattle for Percy Harvin.
I've had a lot of discussions, mostly with myself, about what direction I should go with this pick. There's just so many ways I could go. I could look at CB with guys like Desmond Trufant, Johnthan Banks, and local favorite D.J. Hayden available. I could look at WR just to prevent the BRB staff from making a dumb move like reaching for Justin Hunter or Robert Woods. I could look at DT to rebuild the wall in front of recently acquired MLB Arthur Brown. I could double-dip at LB just to add some craziness to this mock. I could throw a major curveball and draft Matt Barkley or E.J. Manuel, then justify it by saying the Vikings would have gone further had they had a better QB. Then again, I could just go down the list of Brett's favorite non-WR first round targets and pick one of those just to irritate the rest of BRB (Kawann Short looks enticing for the Vikings).........
But, when it comes down to it, only one move makes sense. THE WILLIAMS WALL MUST BE REBUILT!!!! With the 25th pick of the 2013 BRB Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Jesse Williams (DT--Alabama).
Taking a run-stopper here and continuing to work on rebuilding the defense rings true to me. Jesse Williams, or the smaller Kawann Short? I'd lean Short myself. Actually, check that. I'd just sign Amobi Okoye and consider NT locked down for the next 20 years. He's only 15 years old, you know.
The Green Bay Packers and krkenney are on the clock.
