The Houston Texans will be busy over the next half hour with three draft picks within a 30-minute time frame. Let's get to it.
With the 195th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, your Houston Texans selected Alan Bonner, wide receiver from Jacksonville State University.
I knew the Texans would look to have a second receiver come in from this NFL Draft, but I am surprised. I mean, I have never heard of Bonner's name or seen it show up in mock drafts. Heck, a quick Google search didn't even turn up much. There's this bare bones NFL.com draft profile, but it doesn't show much since Bonner hasn't been on the draft radar.
According to the school website, he is 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighs 168 pounds. I would guess he's a slot receiver, due to size, but it would all be a guess. There were plenty of better known receivers out there, so I have to trust general manager Rick Smith and his scouting department here. I'm puzzled and clueless though on Bonner. More research and information is needed, but Keshawn Martin has competition now.
What say you, BRBers? Put your always spot-on reactions to this pick in the comments below and stay tuned as the Texans will be back on the clock in two picks and five picks. Vega and Brett Kollmann will drop their initial reactions as they can.
