2013 NFL Draft: Houston Texans Select Chris Jones

The Texans have finally drafted a nose tackle! He's not the space eating beast of BFD's dreams, but he looks like the type of player that can fit into Wade Phillips' one gap style.

USA TODAY Sports

Chris Jones fits the stereotypical mold that Rick Smith has drafted in the past. He's a hard working player with a relentless motor from Baylor Bowling Green where he was able to record double digit sacks last season. He seems to have excellent quickness which may make him a fit for the Texans scheme, even if his smallish size may have detracted other teams.

He was also a team captain in 2010 and 2011, so he seems to be the type of solid character guy that the Texans have historically picked (even if they may have deviated a bit this year).

Whether his tenacity and work ethic translate to NFL production remains to be seen, but for now it looks like Wade Phillips has another shiny, new toy for his defensive line.

Oh, and apparently he doesn't eat breakfast when he gets really nervous, which sounds weird for a 300 lb guy.
