Kubiak Throwing in the Kitchen Sink.

The Texans were all over the place at organized team practice yesterday, missing routes, botching snaps, and they were just generally sloppy. The Texans coach put the blame on himself.

"We're throwing a bunch at them every day, just see who can keep up and really trying to send a message to them of what they're going to have to handle when we come back," Kubiak said.

Around the League

Football Loses a Legend.

Deacon Jones, one of the greatest players and personalities in football, passed away late last night of natural causes. I knew the "Secretary of Defense: as one the larger then life personalities on NFL Films and NFL Network productions. Before that, he was the man that coined the phrase ‘sacking the quarterback'. He perfected his creation by destroying linemen with his patented devastating head slap on the way to the quarterback.

The leader of the "Fearsome Foursome," Jones was a 5-time First-Team All-Pro, 3-time Second-Team All-Pro, and two-time Defensive Player of the Year. If the sack was a official stat when Jones played, he would be at the top of the list for single season sack total - first with 26 (1967), second with 24 (1968), and fourth with 22 (1964).
