It's the weekly Saturday Night Open Thread on Battle Red Blog. Talk about whatever's on your mind...Houston Texans or otherwise.

It's no meteor shower, but it's nice.

What's going on tonight? The Astros and Rangers are playing the second game of a four game series, starting at 6:10 p.m. when Derek Holland (9-6, 3.02 ERA) takes on the illustrious Brad Peacock (1-4, 7.25 ERA) . Check out Dunsmore's Crawfish Boxes if you are a self-loathing Astros fan or Lone Star Ball if your loyalties reside with the Rangers. Off course, there's also more preseason football, as the New York Giants head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in a battle of second and third stringers.

The Perseid meteor shower is this weekend, too. It is worth checking out. It's the biggest meteor shower of the year and the moon is at the perfect phase for observation. Just take a hour or two drive outside your city, get away from as much artificial light as possible, and shortly after midnight, the stars will start falling out of the sky. I'll let the experts tell you more about the astronomical wonders of it.

Whatever your plans are this weekend, enjoy it and discuss whatever you like here. Whether it's the Texans' first game in pads last night or why Romanticism is the most important movement in the history of literature, have at it. Remember the community guidelines are the same no matter how many Natty Lights you have in your system.
