Houston Texans Injuries: DeAndre Hopkins Diagnosed With Concussion

DeAndre Hopkins did not have his knee exploded by D.J. Swearinger, but he certainly didn't leave tonight's game untouched.

And I thought THIS would be the low point of the evening.

It seems as though DeAndre Hopkins' early exit from Saturday's preseason bout with the Miami Dolphins turned out to be from a concussion after all.  Gary Kubiak confirmed it in his postgame quotes.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Kubiak said Hopkins has a concussion, but &quot;he&#39;s fine. Obviously, we&#39;ll put him through the protocol.&quot;</p>&mdash; John McClain (@McClain_on_NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/McClain_on_NFL/statuses/368938480329441280">August 18, 2013</a></blockquote>

Hopkins will now have to go through a battery of tests as mandated by the new CBA before he steps on the field again this season. There is no word yet on the severity of the concussion, but updates will be posted if and when that information becomes available. Until then, I think I speak for all Texans fans when I say, WHY, FOOTBALL GODS?! WHY?!
