Countdown To Kickoff: Texans v. Cowboys

Here's your open thread to discuss the final game of the 2013 preseason for your Houston Texans. In a few short hours, they'll take the field in Arlington to tangle with the Cowboys. Spend that time before kickoff with fellow fans at Battle Red Blog.

Not officially yet announced as Houston's QB2, but...he's almost surely Houston's QB2.

The 2013 preseason for your Houston Texans ends in Arlington tonight. While most of the starters won't play at all, there are jobs on the line. The battle for backup QB is probably the biggest headline grabber (even though I believe it would take a cataclysmic meltdown from T.J. Yates tonight for Case Keenum to seize the QB2 gig), but regular season employment at CB and OLB are also at stake. For all the talk about the bottom of the roster not mattering, there's plenty of reason to watch the Texans and Cowboys play at 7 p.m. CDT this evening.

As we stare longingly at the clock, praying for those final few hours to pass so we can watch Texans football again, I invite you to use this thread to pass the time. This is the place for you to commiserate with like-minded fans. Chat about the game, the Cowboys, the Texans' projected 53-man roster, where Dallas stands in relation to the rest of the teams in the NFC East, what you hope to see this evening, and anything else Texans or Cowboys-related.

The first open thread for the game will post at 6:45 p.m. CDT.
