Texans-Seahawks Final Score: Houston's Faux-Dominance Leads To 23-20 OT Loss To Seattle

It's really quite difficult to find the right words for this loss. This 23-20 overtime loss by your Houston Texans to the Seattle Seahawks. 

I say this because the Texans were dominant in the first half. They had a 20-3 lead and were manhandling Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. In the second half, Wilson used his mobility to spark some life into Seattle while cornerback Richard Sherman tied the game late in the fourth quarter with a pick-six off of quarterback Matt Schaub.

I could try and paint some positives here. Whitney Mercilus had 2.5 sacks, J.J. Watt was strong and dominant, Schaub tossed for over 300-yards and ended Seattle's Legion of Boom 11-game streak of holding passers under 300 yards, Arian Foster put up 102 rushing yards, and Andre Johnson had nine receptions for 110 yards. All of that is pointless though because of the implosion. 

The game turned on Ben Tate's fumble and Schaub's pick-six. The Texans had chance after chance after chance to knock-out, arguably, the NFC's best team. The Texans had a shot to silence critics and doubters and put together a complete effort, but they laid an egg in the second half. Houston now falls to 2-2 and sits behind Indianapolis, and maybe Tennessee depending on their outcome, in the AFC South.

The Texans are in a tailspin and now heading to San Francisco for a Sunday night game. Let's hope no one calls this a Super Bowl preview.
