Duane Brown Named To Pro Bowl

Despite a 2-14 record, the Houston Texans learned that they'll be sending a third player to the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl.

Congrats, Duane.
Congrats, Duane.

Dave Zangaro was the first person I saw with the news that your Houston Texans will be sending a third player to Honolulu along with J.J. Watt and Andre Johnson. Duane Brown, the Texans' star left tackle, is Pro Bowl bound as well, writes Zangaro.

Brown will join Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt as the Pro Bowl representatives from the Texans. The Texans have more Pro Bowlers than they had wins in 2013. This is the sixth consecutive season the Texans have had at least thee players make the Pro Bowl. Nine Texans went to the Pro Bowl last season.

After being arguably the best left tackle in the entire league in 2011 and 2012, D. Brown wasn't the same guy in 2013. Brown caught a nasty case of turf toe in the Texans' final win in 2013 (Week Two against the Titans, if you forgot), and the injury kept him out of action in Weeks Three and Four. When he returned to the field, Brown wasn't the outstanding player to which Texans fans had become accustomed.  Probably nothing a few months off can't cure.

Congratulations to Duane Brown on the honor, and here's hoping he has a recuperative offseason after his Pro Bowl duties conclude.
