Houston Texans News: Injuries Heading Into Cowboys Game And New Practice Squad Signings

It has been a busy day for the Houston Texans as they prepare for a trip to Dallas on Sunday. Read about two new practice squad members and the players held out of today's practice.

Injury Update:

Will Grubb of Sports Radio 610 reports today's list of players who were held out of practice.  This is quite the list of nicked up players for a Texans team that is about to play the Cowboys this Sunday, followed by hosting the Colts at NRG  Stadium just four days later for Thursday Night Football:

CB A.J. Bouye (Groin)
Duane Brown (Knee)
OLB Jadeveon Clowney (Knee)
LB Brian Cushing (Knee)
RB Arian Foster (Hamstring)
DE Tim Jamison (Groin)
WR Andre Johnson (Ankle)
Ben Jones (Knee)
Shane Lechler (L. Hip)
CB Darryl Morris (Ankle)
Eddie Pleasant (Ankle)
DE J.J. Watt (Thigh)

NT Louis Nix III

It appears that the Texans' 3rd-round draft pick underwent surgery on his elbow, which may be what landed him on Injured Reserve for the season:

Roster and Practice Squad Updates:

Yesterday, the Texans cut safety Shiloh Keo and promoted safety Josh Aubrey from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.  They also signed WR Travis Labhart back o the practice squad.

Earlier this morning, we reported that Houston had signed CB Jumal Rolle off the Packers' practice squad and released RB Ronnie Brown.

This afternoon, your Houston Texans signed cornerbacks Charles James and Kendall James to their practice squad as well.

I really like how active the Texans are with reinforcing depth each week.  Let's hope that player list of "nicks and scrapes" held out of practice is just precautionary to keep the guys fresh for a very busy couple of games coming up.

How do you feel about this news, Texans fans?
