For the first time since he tore his meniscus in the Week One win over Washington, Jadeveon Clowney practiced with the Houston Texans today. Bill O'Brien says you shouldn't take that to mean Clowney will be a go for the Steelers game on Monday night:
"He practiced today," head coach Bill O'Brien said. "I would say again, it'll be a gametime decision."
O'Brien said Clowney "looked good", and that "on Monday he'll tell us what he can do."
Courtesy of the Texans' official site, here's some video of Clowney's return to the practice field today. It may not show him destroying effigies of Ben Roethlisberger, but it counts as visible progress six weeks after surgery.
How about the man himself? What does Jadeveon Clowney think about his chances of playing on Monday night? While Clowney termed today "a great day," he also said he wouldn't be surprised if he didn't suit up against the Steelers.
In other words, nobody knows anything. Or at least anything they're willing to say publicly. Stay tuned.
