Jadeveon Clowney and Taylor Lewan Set For High-Profile Rematch

Have you ever been so excited to see two rookies face off on just a handful of snaps in a likely meaningless divisional game? Yeah, me neither.

Bob Levey

With Jadeveon Clowney’s return to the field this Sunday becoming more and more likely and Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan now capably manning the left side of Tennessee’s offensive line, I find it prudent to revisit one of the greatest individual college football matchups of the last several years in the 2012 Outback Bowl. Clowney and Lewan clawed, punched, and bulldozed each other to a near stalemate, and now two years later comes the rematch we have all been waiting for.

The former Gamecock may be making the trip to Nashville at less than 100%, yet even a wounded Clowney is still more explosive than most pass rushers in the National Football League. Texans fans will likely only get to see Clowney on obvious passing downs, but those few snaps should be some of the most entertaining battles we see all day. As a primer for "Clowney-Lewan, Part Deux" this weekend, I invite you all to go through their collegiate bowl game brawl one more time to get the hype juices flowing.
