Week Eight is upon us and it's time once again to set our fantasy roster. Let's take a look at a few Texans players as they take on the Titans this week.
Starts
Arian Foster, Running Back - Foster is still currently averaging 20.08 fantasy points per game on FanDuel. That is the second-highest average per game for a running back, only behind the Cowboys' DeMarco Murray. With each passing week of positive production, the worries of Foster's durability slowly slip into the background. The question becomes can Ryan Fitzpatrick keep teams honest with the pass to protect the run from eight-man fronts.
The Titans have allowed opponents to rush for 123.7 yards per game and six touchdowns on the ground.
Andre Johnson, Wide Receiver - The yearly matchups with the Titans are just not the same without Cortland Finnegan on the sidelines for the Titans. The video highlights of Andre Johnson's beat down of Finnegan are missed. Moving to Johnson's current status, the future Hall of Famer has continued to be the security blanket for Ryan Fitzpatrick in the offense - averaging nine targets and 70.8 receiving yards per game. With that much focus on in the passing game and a middle of the pass defense in Tennessee (247.9 passing yards per game ranks 21st in the league), Johnson is a must start.
Texans, Team Defense and Special Teams - Jake Locker joins Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder as quarterback taken in the first round of the 2011 draft that are no longer in their team's future as a starting quarterback. I would add that Locker and Gabbert were taken ahead of J.J. Watt in that draft. The Titans have announced rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger out of LSU will get the start Sunday. The Texans should feast on the young quarterback learning the ropes and dealing with the emotions of making his first career start.
Sits
Garrett Graham, Tight End, - We talked about this last week, I want to say you should start Garrett Graham. The matchup say you should start Graham, he is facing a Titans defense that has given up 9.7 points per game to tight ends (fifth-worst in the NFL). Graham's use in the Texans offense took a step in the right direction with two catches (3 targets) for 24 yards on Monday against the Steelers, an improvement over two games with just one target. Graham's value is hurt by the lack of chances in the red zone, the bread and butter for tight ends.
