This week's late afternoon line-up gives us a pretty interesting choice of games.
The Arizona Cardinals (3-0) are coming off their bye and look to stay undefeated by winning against the Denver Broncos (2-1) in Denver. The Cardinals will be without usual starting QB Carson Palmer for the third week in a row due to a "sleeping nerve" in his throwing shoulder. Should be a hotly contested and exciting game.
The Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) and the San Francisco 49ers (2-2) will face off in what could be a season turning game for both teams. Winner goes to 3-2 and puts themselves back in the thick of a tough division, while the loser falls to 2-3 and faces a big uphill battle to get back into playoff position. Both teams struggled to start the year (0-2 for Kansas City, 1-2 for San Francisco), but have bounced back with convincing wins lately (KC riding a two game win streak, including a 41-14 smackdown of the Patriots on MNF, and San Francisco defeating previously unbeaten Philadelphia to pull back to .500).
The San Diego Chargers (3-1) and New York Jets (1-3) looks pretty cut and dry. San Diego boasts one of the best defenses in the league this year, and they're facing an offense with a mistake-prone quarterback and an inconsistent running game. On offense they've got an offensive line that should be able to keep Philip Rivers from getting totally mauled by the New York Sack Exchange, and the WR/QB combo to take advantage of a depleted New York secondary. I expect an easy win for the Chargers, but then again I expected an easy win for Atlanta against a rookie QB last week and we saw how that turned out.
