It's divison time again. Wipe the slate clean. The only objective is to beat the Colts, Jaguars, and Titans. Can the Texans pull out another AFC South crown? They have the talent, but will they be able to stay healthy and get enough from Ryan Fitzpatrick? Fitzpatrick, the man that has the glorious beard and the habit of throwing to the other team, must outduel Andrew "The Chin Beard" Luck. Let's look at some of the stats coming into this week's Thursday night special.
Chris:
Ryan Fitzpatrick. I think there's a genuine chance he is fighting for his starting job if he does not play well against Indy, especially considering there's a long break between Friday and the Monday night game in Pittsburgh. As long as Arian Foster stays healthy and keeps playing like he did in his best years, the plan for every defense Houston faces the rest of the season will likely be to load up the box and force Fitzpatrick to make plays with his arm.
They call him...Tim:
T.Y. Hilton. Historically, he has killed the Texans. The Houston secondary will need to make sure he doesn't get behind them tomorrow night.
MDC:
Andrew Luck. God, I hate Andrew Luck.
Chris (Again):
Technically I guess mine could have been "Ryan Fitzpatrick. God, I hate Ryan Fitzpatrick."
Captain Ron:
Jadeveon Clowney...oh wait!
Matt Weston:
I'm going with Bjorn Werner. You know how much I hate Ryan Gritzpatrick, but I'll give him credit where it's due. He's not a complete train wreck when there isn't pressure--he's just a totaled car devoid of injuries. Werner is the only edge rusher Indy has and if Brown and Newton can seal the edge Fitzpatrick can make some things happen. This is especially so since Andre Johnson takes Vontae Davis's lunch money every time they play against each other. If no,t be on the lookout for errant passes turned into interceptions.
Vega:
J.J. Watt. We know that he's basically on a pass rush island on this team (hopefully just until Clowney comes back). If the Texans are going to disrupt Luck in the pocket, it's going to be because of Watt. If Indy's able to hold him in check, it's pretty much game over. The Texans cannot compete with Luck in a shoot out.
Brett Kollmann:
Colts vs Texans coverageBill O'Brien. If this game goes to overtime, I really hope he doesn't try to pass on 3rd and 2 after Arian Foster ran all over people at will.
