Back in late August when the Houston Texans acquired Ryan Mallett in trade from the New England Patriots, it was reported that the Patriots would receive the Texans' seventh-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. That seventh-rounder would turn into the Texans' sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft if Mallett played 40% of Houston's snaps this year.
With today's news that Mallett's season is over, that means the Patriots will not be receiving anything but Houston's seventh-round pick in 2016 in the aforementioned Mallett deal:
With this Ryan Mallett news, he won't reach playtime numbers required to up draft-pick compensation. So NE will receive HOU 7th-rounder.

Although time will tell whether the Ryan Mallett Era in Houston lasted a mere two games, we can now definitively say what the Texans paid to have Mallett on the roster this year.
