We give Ryan Fitzpatrick a hard time around these parts. Desperate in our desire for a franchise quarterback, many of us have devoted substantial effort this season to lamenting Fitzpatrick's shortcomings. When he was benched in favor of Ryan Mallett, we cheered; not because we necessarily believed Mallett was the answer at QB, but because he simply was not Ryan Fitzpatrick. Then Mallett got hurt, and Bill O'Brien turned back to Fitzpatrick to lead the offense against the Tennessee Titans.
Newly restored as the Texans' starting quarterback, all Ryan Fitzpatrick did last Sunday was go 24-33 for 358 yards, 6 TDs, and O INTs.
Six. Six touchdowns!
Of all the absurd things I've ever written at BRB, that may be the most difficult to believe. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for six (6!) TDs in a single game. Six!
On the heels of that historic performance, FedEx is ready to recognize Ryan Fitzpatrick's phenomenal performance. They just need your help.
As a result of his six (6!) touchdown effort, Ryan Fitzpatrick has been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week. You can vote for him by going here and selecting him (plus a RB for the Ground Player of the Week). After you vote, you can get Sixpatrick ten (10) more votes by sharing your ballot on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.
That's all well and good, but why should you participate in this process? Because if Ryan Fitzpatrick wins, FedEx will make a $2,000.00 donation to Houston’s local chapter of the American Red Cross. That's something you can feel good about supporting.
So please go here, vote for Ryan Fitzpatrick, and do your part toward helping those who need your help in Houston.
