Ryan Fitzpatrick Wins AFC Offensive Player Of The Week Award

For his valiant efforts in slaying the woeful Tennessee Titans, our bearded one won a nifty little prize.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The masthead here at BRB is still reeling a bit at Ryan Fitzpatrick's six (6!) touchdowns thrown against the Tennessee Titans. His stats were apparently enough to earn him the honor of being named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.

From the Mothership:

Fitzpatrick led the Houston offense to a franchise-record 45 points and helped the team convert a club-record 11 third downs. The 10-year veteran completed 24-of-33 passes for 358 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions with a career-high passer rating of 147.5. Fitzpatrick is one of nine quarterbacks in NFL history to throw at least six touchdowns against zero interceptions.

Sixpatrick adds another page to his Fitzmagic legacy. "Magic" is definitely the appropriate word, because any good magician will leave you guessing on what's coming next. After riding the pine for two weeks, no one saw this coming from Fitzpatrick. No one.

The 358 yards represented the fourth highest total in Fitzpatrick’s career. The Harvard graduate became the fifth player in team history to throw for 300 yards in a game and became the 12th quarterback in NFL history to throw for 300-plus yards in a game for four different NFL franchises.

So what will Ryan Fitzpatrick do this week at Jacksonville? Your guess is as good as mine.
