With 9-month recovery from Jadeveon Clowney's microfracture knee surgery, start of 2015 season in real doubt for him.
— Adm Schfter (@AdamSchefter) December 10, 2014
In addition to a lateral meniscus tear Clowney had articular cartilage damage. #Texans knew all along microfracture surgery was possible.
JDC cartilage damage old, hard to detect w/o cutting. Seen during meniscus surgery. Conservatively thought could avoid 2nd surgery to play.
Yep, you read that right. Jadeveon Clowney has just undergone the notoriously risky (and dreaded) microfracture surgery on his injured knee. With at least nine months expected for recovery time, the Texans may not see Clowney back on the field until part way into the 2015 regular season at the earliest. Considering this same surgery likely ended former Texans third round pick Brennan Williams' career, I am not sure I could accurately describe my level of concern right now.
Please don't be Greg Oden.
