Earlier this week, there was talk that the 2014 NFL salary cap could be as much as $135,000,000.00 per team. Before that, the talk was that the cap would be $130,000,000.00 per team in 2014. Turns out neither of those reports were correct.

First salary cap? 1994. Number? $34.6 million per team. Why a cap? To allow free agency & ensure competitive league.
