2014 Houston Texans Free Agency Tracker/Open Thread: NFL Free Agents Can Now Sign

The witching hour of the 2014 NFL offseason has arrived. Free agents are now able to sign with teams. Talk about departing Houston Texans, arriving Houston Texans, and all other things free agency related in Battle Red Blog's open thread for the occasion.

Still here.
Still here.

Earlier today, Brice McCain was released by your Houston Texans. That departure was quickly overshadowed by the news that Owen Daniels, the last player on the roster from the Texans' outstanding draft of 2006 and a true fan favorite, had also been cut for salary cap reasons.

Yet, at least at this hour, embattled QB Matt Schaub remains a Texan. Is the team really considering keeping Schaub on the roster? Or is it merely waiting to see how things play out, secure in the knowledge that they can always release Schaub at a later date (before June 1st, presumably)?

Share your thoughts on that and any other free agent goings-on as the afternoon rolls into the evening. The moment this post was published at 3 p.m. CDT, unrestricted free agents were free to sign with teams. React to any signings from around the league in the Comments below.
