Thank You, Matt Schaub

Matt Schaub is now an Oakland Raider, but let's remember him for all he did in Houston. Battle Red Blog says thank you.

Good night, Sweet Prince.
Good night, Sweet Prince.

Thank you, Matt Schaub.

Thank you for saving us from David Carr, his Captain Checkdown mentality, and the scars of him being sacked.

Thank you for being a very good fit in the West Coast Offense and never completing fewer than 61% of your passes in your time with the Texans.

Thank you for never being a locker room cancer, be it during the battles with Sage Rosenfels or the last year while every other quarterback got his chance.

Thank you for helping get Andre Johnson closer to Canton.

Thank you for that special 2009 season, with your 4,770 passing yards.

Speaking of 2009, thank you for being Houston's first-ever Pro Bowl MVP and getting Houston on the MVP scoreboard before three other franchises.

Thank you for the 11 4th quarter comebacks and 14 game-winning drives - including these two.

Thank you for giving your body up for wins and winning more starts than you lost.

Thank you for being a great representative of the franchise in the community.

Most importantly, thank you for helping make this team better.  Thank you for actually giving Houston fans a legitimate chance to dream about a championship.

Good luck in Oakland next year, Matt.  Make everyone forget about the pick-sixes, except for one week where it would totally be cool if you wanted to throw one more touchdown to someone in deep steel blue.
