About a month ago, Mike Mayock released his rankings of the top five players at each position who were eligible for the 2014 NFL Draft. Yesterday, he released a revised and updated list. Judging by the movement in his rankings, I'd say it's fair to conclude that he puts considerably more value on pro day performance than our own TDC does.
Last month, Mayock initially had the QBs ranked as follows:
1. Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville
2. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
3. Blake Bortles, Central Florida
4. Derek Carr, Fresno State
t5. A.J. McCarron, Alabama
t5. Jimmy Garoppolo, Eastern Illinois
Now he's got 'em like this:
1. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
2. Blake Bortles, Central Florida
3. Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville
4. Derek Carr, Fresno State
t5. AJ McCarron, Alabama
t5. Jimmy Garoppolo, Eastern Illinois
Is it as simple as Mayock being less than enthused about Teddy Bridgewater's pro day and truly blown away by Johnny Manziel's pro day? Or has something else on the film inspired this change of opinion?
Has your view on the QB prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft changed as well? Does Mayock's relative loss of love for Bridgewater put you firmly in the camp of (or more firmly in the camp, as it were) the Texans selecting Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack with the first overall pick?
