2014 NFL Mock Draft: With The Twelfth Overall Pick Of The 2014 BRB Mock Draft, The New York Giants Select...

Thankfully, it's time for the New York Giants to make their pick in the 2014 Battle Red Blog Mock Draft. All this talk about teams not from the East Coast was getting tiresome. Who did the Giants take?

I'm guessing they just caught a glimpse of David Tyree.

The New York Giants have made their pick, and TooDarkMark is about to enlighten you as to why they chose who they chose.

With the 12th pick of the 2014 BRB Mick Draft, the New York Football Giants select Aaron Donald (DT--University of Pittsburgh).

Donald was a real beast in college, winning the Outland Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Award. The man is a winner and a defensive leader who would fit in perfectly, replacing the departing Justin Tuck and Linval Joseph.

Although the Giants need offense at WR and TE, both Mike Evans and Eric Ebron were off the board. If Evans was available, it would have been a tough choice, but Donald is that type of plug-right-in-for-a decade DT that could do a lot to bring the Giants' defense back to the devastating Super Bowl level they once enjoyed.

Aaron Donald has flown up draft boards since his Combine performance, so it's no surprise that someone would fall in love with him enough to take him in the first half of the first round. Given the Giants' losses on the defensive line and their history of constantly reinforcing same, this pick makes sense to me. React as you see fit in the Comments.

The Rams and grandmasteroz are back on the clock for the second of their first round picks. That selection is due to me by 7 p.m. CDT this evening.
