Since he was hired as head coach of your Houston Texans, Bill O'Brien has played things very close to the vest when he's met with the media, at least when it comes to what's been reported. No bold proclamations, nothing inflammatory, minimal glimpses into his personality, and a bevy of coachspeak.
That's precisely why getting to watch and listen to O'Brien while he has a live microphone on during a recent mini-camp session (first brought to my attention by runtothesun in the Comments to this post) is so entertaining. We get to see a glimpse of the Bill O'Brien the players see every day, and it's a far cry from the noncommittal, dry presser quotes we read after O'Brien's meetings with the media. O'Brien, dare I say it, is actually a character. Watching that clip and seeing him interact with the players, it's easy to believe that people are going to truly enjoy competing under his watch.
Your thoughts on Bill O'Brien as a leader of men and/or a deejay?
