According to John McClain, the Texans cut nine (9) players this morning. The list of those players who have been informed they are no longer Texans:

1. Joe Adams (WR)
2. Alec Lemon (WR)
3. David Hunter (NT)
4. Austin Brown (NT)
5. Terrance Lloyd (OLB)
6. Lawrence Sidbury (OLB)
7. Junior Mertile (CB)
8. Sam Longo (C/OG)
9. William Powell (RB)

The team's tenth roster move of the day was sending David Quessenberry to the non-football injury list. Quessenberry, as you'll recall, was diagnosed with lymphoma back in June and is now aggressively treating the disease.

Seth Payne notes that the way the Texans chose to classify Quessenberry's move deserves praise:

UPDATE: Updating an earlier tweet, DQ's move to the non-football injury list does not give him a year of vesting after all:

The Texans still must make another four (4) moves before tomorrow's deadline of 3 p.m. CDT to get the roster down to 75 players.
