2014 Houston Texans Training Camp: Live Blog for August 3rd

Follow all the action at Houston Texans training camp LIVE on BRB!

Stop what you are doing right now and watch this.

That is your shiny new outside linebacker making the offense pay for leaving him unblocked. Conventional wisdom would say that a 266 pound edge defender in a two-point stance would not have enough speed to redirect and intercept a running back in the back field all the way from a 9-technique alignment. Jadeveon Clowney is anything but "conventional". The fact that this kind of play appears to be "routine" so far at Texans camp is mind-boggling.

Twitter seems to be filled every single day with mentions of some ridiculous thing(s) that the first overall pick has done, and every single day we have to remind ourselves that he is still a rookie coming off of sports hernia surgery. As Bill O’Brien and Company edge ever closer to their first preseason game of the 2014 season, the anticipation is building to a fever pitch to see Clowney unleashed once and for all in live game action. If the Arizona Cardinals know what’s good for them, they will let Carson Palmer sit this one out.

Consider this your open thread for today’s camp session. Stick around later for the first actual football game (kinda) of the year between the Giants and Bills (8:00 PM E.T. on NBC).
