Although Bill O'Brien called Shane Lechler "day-to-day" in his press conference yesterday, OB also made it clear the Texans would explore other options at punter if Lechler thought he might not be able to go against the Bills on Sunday. Ian Rapoport says the Texans did just that this morning.
Because punters are people too — and because Shane Lechler has a soft tissue injury — the #Texans worked out a slew of punters today.

Who are these punting candidates, you ask? John McClain says the team brought in four players--Mat McBriar, Zoltan Mesko, Brian Moorman, and Kasey Redfern--for tryouts. This would seem to indicate that signs point to Lechler missing Sunday's game; unfortunately, that jibes with what Aaron Wilson has heard as well.
Hearing that punter Shane Lechler is likely out this week for Texans due to muscle injury

This would qualify as a huge loss. Lechler is a certifiable weapon, capable of flipping the field on the opposition every time he touches the ball. Consequently, the offer I made immediately after Lechler went down on Sunday still stands.
Please don't let Lechler be hurt. Take me instead, God! TAKE ME INSTEAD! #Texans

It's nice to see at least one other Texans fan is on board with the initiative.
Ugh. Why couldn't it be @battleredblog instead? :( MT @RavensInsider Hearing punter Shane Lechler likely out this week due to muscle injury

UPDATE: A familiar face will be the Texans' punter on Sunday if Shane Lechler can't play.
