Jadeveon Clowney Injury News: Clowney Has Torn Lateral Meniscus, Expected To Be Out 4-6 Weeks

Houston won their first regular season game in almost a year, but they appear to have lost the number one overall pick from the 2014 NFL Draft for a while due to a knee injury in the season opener.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Jadeveon Clowney was visibly upset as he headed to the locker room late in the second quarter of today's win over Washington, and it has now been confirmed that he sustained a torn lateral meniscus in his knee.  It is being reported that he will have surgery tomorrow; that will determine the extent of the injury and when he may return.  This news definitely sours the victory a bit, and we will be on pins and needles until we hear an update on how much time Clowney will miss before returning to action. The best guess at this stage is about 4 to 6 weeks.
