The savants at Over The Cap have released their initial projection for NFL compensatory draft picks in 2015. They believe your Houston Texans will be the recipient of four (4) compensatory picks as a result of the free agent departures of Antonio Smith, Earl Mitchell, Ben Tate, and Joe Mays.

Specifically, OTC projects the Texans to receive a fifth-rounder as compensation for the loss of the Ninja Assassin and three (3) sixth-rounders for the losses of Mitchell, Tate, and Mays, respectively. While the estimate could be subject to change based upon the formula used by the NFL, I imagine Bill O'Brien is just fine with having four potential extra assets in the 2015 NFL Draft.
