Whether this is simply a matter of due diligence or Nate Washington and/or Cecil Shorts III not being quite ready for a return to the lineup, your Houston Texans reportedly worked three (3) WRs out today.

The Houston Texans officially tried out three receivers on Monday including Josh Lenz, DaVaris Daniels, and Corey Washington, according to the NFL transactions release.

Washington, 23, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of last year. He lasted just a few weeks in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

New York wound up releasing him from injured reserve with a settlement a month ago.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Lenz, 24, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State back in 2013. He lasted just a few months with the Bears before he was waived and later caught on with the Seahawks.

The Colts wound up bringing him in towards the end of the 2013 season and later signed him to a future/reserve contract in January. Lenz later caught on with the Browns towards the end of May, but was unfortunately among the team’s roster cuts a few weeks ago.

He recently tried out for the Giants, but did not receive an offer from the team.

Lenz has yet to appear in an NFL game.

That's enough football for now. You may now return to what I can only assume is total bewilderment at what just happened at Minute Maid Park.

UPDATE: As Dunsmore noted in today's Newswire, the Texans signed Josh Lenz to their practice squad.
