Open Game Day Thread: Houston Texans v. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Houston Texans aim to improve to 1-1 in the AFC South and 2-4 on the season today. Talk about what's happening on the field in Battle Red Blog's live open game thread for Texans-Jags this afternoon.

After last week's loss at home to Indianapolis, many (most?) Texans fans closed the book on any notion of Houston playing football after Week 17 this season. And yet, as you'll hear the few optimists left in the fan base tell you, the Texans' schedule before the bye includes three "winnable" games against the Jaguars, Dolphins, and Titans. Why, if they win all three, the Texans will be 4-4! That's miles away from the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft some would have you believe is inevitable.

If you're looking to believe in the possibility of rebirth, I suggest you refrain from looking at Houston's schedule after the bye week. It will only dampen your enthusiasm, and it's game day, and it's not even November, and it's a beautiful Sunday, and you were lucky enough to wake up this morning to see another day on this planet, and life is full of endless possibilities. There will be plenty of time to feel sad later. For now, let's get happy and realize that crazy things happen all the time in sports.

Today's game against the Jaguars in Jacksonville is the first step toward renewed hope, and that's something you can may be able to get behind. Thus, this is your first open thread for the Week Six AFC South grudge match between the Texans and Jaguars. Share your observations, thoughts, and musings about all things Houston, Texan, and/or Jag in real time in the Comments below.

NOTE: Please do not post any images, videos, GIFs, or non-text comments in any of BRB's live game threads. They tend to slow the thread down and can take a long time to load. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
