Texans-Jaguars Final Score: DeAndre Hopkins' 2 TDs, Andre Hal's 2 INTs Carry Texans To Second Win Of The Season

Victory! We almost forgot what that felt like. The Texans avoid the basement of the AFC with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Get the recap here on Battle Red Blog.

Brian Hoyer's second start of the season went a lot better than his first one. After getting benched in the first game of the season against the Chiefs, then making an appearance during a blowout against the Falcons, and then relieving Ryan Mallett after an injury...Hoyer seems to have re-solidified himself as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans.

Throwing three touchdowns and nearly 300 yards, Hoyer led an efficient offense, converting 50% on third down while keeping the ball safe with no turnovers.

DeAndre Hopkins, already leading the league in receiving yards, finally got to showcase his skills in non-garbage time. He befuddled the Jaguars' secondary for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 10 catches.

Arian Foster had a quiet game on the ground (53 yards on 18 carries) but was electric catching the ball, notching 59 yards on five catches, including the first score of the game.

The defense, missing Jadeveon Clowney, kept Blake Bortles and his talented pass-catchers mostly in check. The secondary yielded plenty of yardage (331 yards and three passing TDs), but two interceptions by Andre Hal (one right before halftime with the Jaguars in the red zone, the other returned for a touchdown) turned the momentum to the Texans.

It was certainly an encouraging performance from a team struggling to establish an identity. We would've wanted to see the offense put the Jaguars away a little earlier, but we'll take it.

The victory puts the Texans in second place of the AFC South, with the potential of being just one game behind the Colts should the Patriots beat them later tonight.

Discuss the victory, Texans fans! Rejoice!
