Lonnie Ballentine suffered a "significant" leg injury in the fourth quarter of yesterday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The second-year safety was carted off the field after colliding with a Jaguars receiver.
After coming off injured reserve last year, clawing his way back to the active roster, biding his time behind Quintin Demps and Eddie Pleasant, Ballentine finally got a real shot, but it has been cut short.
S Lonnie Ballentine is out 4 season with a knee injury. Bill OBrien said it happened right in front of him. Compared it to Brady and Welker

Bill O'Brien calls Lonnie Ballentine's injury a significant knee injury. "He can't catch a break. I feel bad for him." Texans?src=hash">#Texans

Brutal, brutal luck.
The Texans still have Andre Hal, a converted cornerback, starting at safety next to Rahim Moore. Hal had two interceptions, including a pick six against the Jaguars. But Ballentine seemed prime to carve himself a role.
Just about entire #Texans team came on the field to check on & show support for Lonnie Ballentine after his injury pic.twitter.com/UaxABL1a30

Now Ballentine will have to heal up and rehab again and wait for next year. Wish him luck on Twitter!
Everyone thanks for all the love and support . I'll bounce back better than I left.
