Dallas Cowboys (2-1)
With Tony Romo and Dez Bryant out for at least the first half of the 2015 regular season with injuries, everyone worried that the Dallas offense would struggle and cost them games. However, it was the defense that cost the Cowboys a 39-28 loss against the Atlanta Falcons last week, as the following players were unavailable: Randy Gregory, Greg Hardy, Rolando McClain, Jeremy Mincey and Orlando Scandrick. Dallas will need fewer of these guys on the injury report in order to compete more effectively.
New Orleans Saints (0-3)
Drew Brees missed last week's tilt against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a bruised rotator cuff in Week 2, which is the first time he has missed a game due to injury since he played in high school. Reports indicate that Brees is expected back after getting examined by Dr. James Andrews, and continuing with regular practice reps each day this week. In addition to getting Brees back, Jairus Byrd, Dannell Ellerbe and Keenan Lewis may all make their first start for the Saints this season. Offensive guard Jahri Evans is the only player ruled out for New Orleans.
It's a tale of one team missing too many star players against another team getting their stars back just in time for this NFC showdown. The Saints look to snap a six-game losing streak at home, notch their first win of the 2015 NFL regular season, and start digging their way out of last place in the NFC South. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are holding on by a thread to maintain first place in their division until their best players return to action.
