There's a game going on right now, but the important game (to us, anyways) is still ahead. The Houston Texans are at the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons.
We all know that Bill O'Brien's attitude towards the injury list is "it's not life-threatening," but the Texans have already listed S Lonnie Ballentine (knee), LB Akeem Dent (hamstring), and RB Jonathan Grimes (knee) out for the game. In more (exciting?) news, second-year guard Xavier Su'a-Filo is listed as probable after finally recovering from a calf strain and S Eddie Pleasant is probable despite a thigh injury, which should (cough) impact (cough) our special teams.
In more positive news, All-Pro LT Duane Brown and Arian Foster are both listed as questionable, though it's looking like both will dress for the game. Also, luckily for a segment of the fanbase, Ryan Mallett's chest injury won't keep him out of the lineup, and Jadeveon Clowney's shoulder injury should be healthy enough to keep Whitney Mercilus in rotation, rather than as the starter.
For the Falcons, they've already declared S Ricardo Allen (knee), WR Devin Hester (toe), RB Tevin Coleman (ribs), and TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) out for today's game. Former Texans LB Brooks Reed is probable for the first time all season after recovering from offseason groin surgery, and he's likely pushing to play against his old team.
With all that said, the final inactives list looks like this:
Texans Inactives
- S Lonnie Ballentine
- LB Akeem Dent
- RB Jonathan Grimes
- WR Jaelen Strong
- WR Chandler Worthy
- LB Kourtnei Brown
- C Greg Mancz
- S Ricardo Allen
- WR Devin Hester
- TE Jacob Tamme
- RB Tevin Coleman
- WR Justin Hardy
- C Gino Gradkowski
- OT Jake Long
