Just one week after signing former Texans inside linebacker Mike Mohamed, the Saints have waived the coverage specialist in favor of fellow linebacker James Anderson.

Mohamed seemed happy to be back in the league last week as he addressed the New Orleans media for the first time, saying that he had already been given a role on special teams.
"Yeah, I am. I’m very thankful for the opportunity. It’s been a bit of a crazy week. It’s a lot to digest with trying to get up to speed, and I’m studying. I’m getting ready to play this week."
"I’m starting on all four special teams right now. Anything can happen before game time, but I’m going in with the mindset that anything can happen this week."
Well, as it were anything did happen, and Mohamed is now a free agent once again. Perhaps he and the Texans can now put aside their differences and come to some sort of agreement that benefits everyone. After all, Mohamed needs a job, and the Texans need a solution for Giovani Bernard in space on Monday night. That sounds like a win-win to me.
