Houston Texans Claim Brandon Weeden Off Waivers; Season Officially Saved!

The Texans claiming Brandon Weeden off waivers is a move that doesn't auger well for the return of Brian Hoyer from a concussion.

Welp, this happened.

Weeden, who is approximately 58 years old, is a former first round draft pick in 2012 of the Cleveland Browns because of course the Browns draft a 43 year old quarterback out of college.  Weeden still has a strong arm, but the walker makes his play a little awkward.

Weeden completed 72% of his passes while with the Dallas Cokeboys earlier this season, but he was unceremoniously benched for the Mighty Matt Cassel after struggling to move the ball.  With Tony Romo ready to return, much to my comedic pleasure, Weeden became expendable.

The move indicates Brian Hoyer won't be able to return on Sunday after being concussed playing the Bengals.

T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden are likely the top two quarterbacks for your Houston Texans on Sunday.  It's feeling a little 2012 all up in here.  Weeden's visit isn't likely to be long, but at least he was awake to take the phone call.

I think we should make a well-check visit on Zac Dysert.
