From the start of Sunday's Houston Texans against the New York Jets, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was jawing at cornerback Darrelle Revis. Most times that doesn't end well for receivers when they have to deal with "Revis Island".
Hopkins was out to prove he owned oceanfront property on Revis Island. Hopkins had two catches over 10 yards against Revis in the first half. The big play finally came with 1:58 left in the second quarter.
T.J. Yates faked the run and turned back towards his receivers to find Hopkins streaking free. Yates let it fly toward Hopkins, and Revis attempted to make up ground and knock the ball out. But it was too late. Hopkins had the ball in his hands and walked into the end zone for a 61-yard score.
DeAndre Hopkins didn't just escape Revis Island. He bursted through it and left it in a dust. 61 YARD TD --> WOW! https://t.co/WVdFwsPYvO— NFL (@NFL) November 22, 2015
The score put the Texans up 10-3 at halftime.
