Open Game Day Thread: Houston Texans v. New Orleans Saints

New, comments

Can the Texans continue their new winning ways with a victory over the Saints at NRG Stadium? Talk about what's happening on the field as it occurs in Battle Red Blog's live open game thread for Texans-Saints today.

I'm guessing this took quite a bit of time to construct.

Ever since they seemingly bottomed out against the Miami Dolphins a little more than a month ago, the Houston Texans have looked like a completely different team over their last three games. While the Cincinnati Bengals are clearly the best team they have faced since that turnaround, Drew Brees will easily be the best quarterback the Texans have had to deal with. In fact, Brees is likely the best QB the Texans have faced all season, unless you're of the mind that Cam Newton brings more to the table than Brees at this point in their respective careers. While Houston's tilt with the Patriots in a couple of weeks will present the opportunity to tangle with perhaps the best signal-caller of all time in Tom Brady, Brees, even saddled with a horrific defense, is quite capable of quieting playoff talk in Houston with a signature performance this afternoon. J.J. Watt & Co. have their work cut out for them. Let's see whether the first winning record of the season is in store for the good guys by day's end.

This is your initial open thread for the Week Twelve contest between the Texans and Saints. Share your observations, thoughts, and musings about all things Houston, Texan, and/or Saint in real time in the Comments below.
