It's a very special edition of DFS picks. The holidays are finally here, and it's time to give out some DFS wisdom.
Here are this week's picks:
QB: Blake Bortles, JAC, $8,200
Bortles has surpassed 250 yards and a passing touchdown in his last four games. He has also rushed for a touchdown in his last two games. This week, the Jaguars face the Saints, the worst passing defense in the league by far.
RB: David Johnson, ARI, $7,300
The Cardinals' running back has rushed for 378 yards over his last three games, including 187 yards against the Eagles last week. Johnson wasn't listed on the injury report this week, so I'm not worried about his knee.
RB: Eddie Lacy, GB, $6,300
Lacy has been a roll of the dice the last few weeks: 23 yards against Oakland, 124 yards against Dallas, four yards against Detroit, 105 yards against Chicago, and 100 yards against Minnesota. The Packers will need Lacy to have a solid effort against the tough Cardinals defense.
WR: DeAndre Hopkins, HOU, $8,500
Whether it's Brian Hoyer or Brandon Weeden, Hopkins will be the number one target in the passing attack. The Texans quarterback will force the ball to Hopkins and likely in the redzone.
WR: Allen Robinson, JAC, $8,400
See Bortles. Robinson is Bortles' top option in the Jag's passing attack; I'm hoping for a big day against the Saints.
WR: Stefon Diggs, MIN, $6,000
Diggs scored twice last week against Chicago; he has woken up for the first time since Nov. 1st against the Bears (95 yards, one touchdown). This is my roll of the dice this week to keep the price down.
TE: Richard Rodgers, $5,300
Richard Rodgers is feast or famine--10 yards receiving in his last two games and 146 yards the week before that. The Cardinals are tough matchup, but I expect Rodgers & Rodgers will be in business.
K: Steven Hauschka, SEA, $5,100
The Seattle Seahawks' offense is clicking. Might as well pick up their kicker this week.
DEF: Detroit Lions, $4,600
Blaine Gabbert is starting at quarterback for 49ers. Need I say more?
